A fenced code block, with its language on the fence.
```ts
const n = 1;
```
Canonical form is always a backtick fence, never an indented block: four-space code is read and comes back fenced. A block with no language writes a bare fence — three backticks and nothing after them — and keeps its lines exactly.
Everything after the language on the fence line — a file name, a highlight range, anything another tool writes — is kept verbatim and means nothing here.
Nothing inside a fence is interpreted: an <!--sb …--> line, a ::: fence or
a $$ in code is text. The one fence with a meaning of its own is
shtukbase-block, which is the envelope.
